    Course summary

An introductory course to the exciting world of computing

    Course description

This is a basic computer course and will teach you about the different types of software applications which work on computers such as word processing, databases and spreadsheets and also about how to manage your files.

You will also learn how to carry out simple care and maintenance of your computer. This course is designed to give you a taster of what computers and the internet are all about and to give you the confidence if you want to go on and learn in more detail about the areas of interest to you.

The course is held in both Thurso and Wick as part of our evening class provision. The timetable for our evening classes is available in a downloadable version from the Resources area of the website, or from the brochure published twice a year, in July and December. Contact Admissions 01847 889250 or email info@northhighland.ac.uk to have your name added to the mailing list for this.

Note that this course has been approved by ILA Scotland: it is therefore possible to use a £200 Individual Learning Account (ILA200) to help towards the cost of the course. (Visit their website http://www.ilascotland.org.uk/ or call 0808 100 1090 for more information).
