Who can join?
If you have Standard Grades at levels 1 and 2 in English, Maths, Computing Studies and Engineering Drawing Studies or an equivalent qualification, you are welcome to apply for this course. Mature applicants with relevant experience are welcome.
How do I attend?
The course may be available on a full time basis over one full academic year, but is mainly studied part time over a longer time. You can also study this course on an evening basis, depending on numbers.
What will I study?
Industry standard latest release software is used, i.e. AutoCAD 2009, Inventor 2009 and REVIT Architectural. During the course the following units will be available to study:
Operating systems for CAD users
Solid modelling
CADD project
Computer aided draughting
Computerised 3D modelling
Presenting complex communication
Architectural computer aided draughting
CAD systems management
Design drawing and communication for engineers
Computer graphics packages

Course Fees for Part Time Students
The units which count towards this qualification are available on an individual basis, making it possible for part time students to gather sufficient units to achieve the award, albeit over a longer period.
You may not have to pay any fees for these units if you qualify for a fee waiver, for instance if you are eligible for certain benefits. See the college's Fee Waiver Policy in the resources area of the website.
It is possible to use an Individual Learning Account (ILA)to pay for these units as you come to study them.
Part time students may also possible qualify for the ILA500, which is a £500 grant for students studying HNC, HND, Degree and taught Postgraduate courses. You must study units totally 40 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework (SCQF) credits or more a year.
