    Administrator, UHI Centre for History

    Wage / salary : £19,817 - £21,403

    The UHI Centre for History, is a key part both of North Highland College and the UHI Millennium Institute, the prospective University of the Highlands and Islands. The Centre delivers degree courses across the UHI network and has a growing research agenda.

     

    An administrator is required to work closely with the Centre’s director and the director’s five academic colleagues at Burghfield, Dornoch.

     

    The successful candidate will have well developed skills in financial and general administration, familiarity with computer systems, a capacity to work to tight deadlines and an ability to get along well with colleagues, students and the public.  A part-time appointment may also be considered for this post.

    Principal's Personal Assistant (Maternity Cover)

    Wages / salary : £19,817 - £21,403

    Working in our busy Executive Office, you will be expected to provide a full range of secretarial and administrative services to the College Principal.  Applicants will possess at least an HND or have relevant experience, and will be expected to work flexibly and efficiently in order to meet the demands of the section, which may include evening and/or weekend work.  You will have experience in diary management, document control, minute taking and producing documents and presentations to a very high standard with minimal assistance.  You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.  This is a temporary position starting in early September for a period of 6-9 months.

    The North Highland College is one of the largest providers of further education across the Highlands And Islands, and is an academic partner of the UHI. We provide high quality learning and research opportunities at our campuses in Caithness, Sutherland, and Ross-shire, as well as distance learning online.

    The colleges Board Of Management provides strategic direction and is responsible for corporate goverenance of the college. To complement the expertise of current members we would particularly like to appoint individuals whose experience includes business, legal, financial, or property development. We will also consider co-opting people with expertise in relation to relevant committees of the board.

    The appointment is initially for four years. The board and each of its committees meets at least four times per year and members are expected to contribute to the work of the board and at least one of its committees.

    Membership of the board is not remunerated however all essential travel and other direct expenses are reimbursed.
