    Equestrian programmes

If you enjoy working with horses and would like to learn more about the subject - with a career in mind or simply to improve your ability to look after your own horse or horses, we may have a course to suit you.

We offer full and part time courses at our purpose built Achavrole campus near Halkirk (Caithness), and part time courses at our array of outreach centres across Scotland.

    Teaching staff

All of the staff employed to teach our equestrian courses (both full and part time, home and away) are people of many years experience in various fields within the industry, and all are suitably qualified. Their experience includes showing horses at Horse Of The Year Show, judging, eventing, breaking, and schooling. They also teach riding and pony club riders throughout the year.

    Full time courses

Full time students benefit from our experienced, qualified staff, excellent facilities, and quality horses as well as being prepared for and taken to the BHS exams alongside their studies. If possible they may also be encouraged to take their own horses.

A big emphasis is placed on preparation for work placement, and so emphasis is always on practical work.

    Part time courses

We offer part time courses at outreach centres across Scotland, and all of our tutors reside locally to the point of delivery. Students on our part time courses attend regular sessions at a well equipped facility with a qualified tutor who will impart the skills and knowledge required to see success in the industry.

Our part time courses are very popular and are a great way to meet like minded people and learn in a relaxed but engaging atmosphere. Courses are offered from National Certificate through to Higher National Diploma level. Entry to our Higher National Diploma course is via the National Certificate route, or through appropriate previous experience.

    Careers

The variety of careers within the equestrian and related industries is broad. From working in sanctuaries to travelling the world as a competition groom or rider. If you have an interest in horses and would like to turn that interest into a career then our courses are ideal for you.
